Mt Guiting-Guiting in Sibuyan Island, one of the seven islands of Romblon Province in the Philippines, Mt Guiting-Guiting is famous because a tooth shaped mountain with an elevation of 6,750ft ASL, it is not the tallest peaks in the country yet it is one of the important in Philippine Mountaineering because it is the remaining mountain to have extensive cover of primary growth forest. Mountaineering responsibility is to preserve and protect the mountains from illegal doings. One noted for its endemic species of plants. Its summit is devoid of tall trees and is characterized by grassland and heath type of vegetation.

Mt Guiting-Guiting in the local dialect means “jagged”, which explains the name of the mountain. This mountain is acknowledged as the most difficult and technically challenging Philippine mountain to climb, alongside Mount Halcon in Mindoro. Mt Guiting-Guiting is situated in Sibuyan Island, one of the three major islands of Romblon province. The two other islands are Tablas Is in the west and Romblon Is in the middle.

The island group is separated to the west by Tablas Strait from Mindoro Is and to the east by Sibuyan Sea from Masbate Is. Separated by the sea, the Romblon group is south of the province of Batangas of the Southern Tagalog Region to which Romblon belongs. South of Romblon is Panay Is with four provinces belonging to Western Visayas Region.
